Glacial region, 10 km long and 6 km wide, at an altitude of about 550 m, north of St. Jonsfjorden, in the central part of Oscar II Land
Opphav
After Carl Otto Løvenskiold, 1839-1916, landowner, prime minister, patron of science, Vekerø near Oslo, Norway, contributor to Norwegian Svalbard expeditions, including Isachsen's expedition 1909-10, which mapped and named the glacier. Around the glacier are a number of localities bearing the Christian names of members of his family: Carlsfjella, Elisebreen, Eleonorebreen, Haraldfjellet, Ottotoppen and Vekkerøfjella
